How To Search For Rich Text On Mac

Transcribing a document can be a tedious task depending on how much text is involved and your typing speed or accuracy. Thankfully, 'optical character recognition' (OCR) technology makes it possible for you to extract text from scanned images, which you can then copy and paste directly into the text document of your choice, including the 'rich text file' format. If you have the full version of Adobe Acrobat Reader, you can do this within the program. Otherwise, you can use a free, online service.

How to change file format between ' RTF ' and ' TXT ' on Mac 1. Go to (Spotlight) and search (TextEdit) 2. Open (TextEdit) and go to (Preference). HTML code doesn't have any rich text formatting like bold or italic characters. Checking this will tell TextEdit to just use plain text so you don't accidentally add any rich text formatting to the code. Next, under the Open and Save tab, under When Opening a File, check the box for 'Display HTML files as HTML code instead of formatted text'. Automator can be set to accept rich text input from a text selection, or can input rich text from the clipboard, but I cannot find any way to access this rich text as a string within Automator or Applescript, such that I can then extract the hyperlinked URLs from the string of rich text data.
